The Families First is a short-term intensive program designed to prevent the removal
of children from their homes who are at risk of being placed outside of the home
due to abuse, neglect or delinquency. Families First also provides intensive
service to a family in order to facilitate a child (ren) return home and reintegration
back into the family.
The Family Reunification program provides strength-based, flexible, intensive in-home
services to families whose children are being returned home after a temporary out-of-home
placement—usually in Foster care.
The program helps families to re-stabilize as they prepare for their children to
return home. This is done through non-traditional, flexible, individualized
strengthened based services.
Workers strive to meet the needs of each family by providing quarterly recreational
and educational activities, parent education and therapeutic services.
Families are expected to successfully complete a series of goals to remove the conditions,
which placed their children into out-of-home care. With a referral to a Family
Reunification program, many families can have their children placed back into the
home while completing their goals.
Wraparound is a program that works with children and families to best meet their
needs through developing independent and specifically tailored services on behalf
of each family member. Wraparound promotes community-based options for families
with complex needs by linking families needs to local community services, helping
family members to become self-sufficient and fully integrated within their communities.
The key concept is for the local community to “wrap” its collective services “around”
a family in need.
