Continuous Quality Improvement

2006 Quality Goal Highlights
Spectrum Community Services is proud to participate in an agency-wide Continuous Quality Improvement process, through which we set specific goals, measure and evaluate our successes, and implement plans for improvements where needed. 2006 was a successful year for all four of our regions. Here are some of the highlights:

Consumer Satisfaction Rates:  Our consumers rated the services we provide to them and the results for each region is as follows:
Eastern Region - 100% satisfied.
Southeast Region- 100% satisfied
Southwest Region - 100% satisfied.
Western Region - 98% satisfied.

Increased Safety and Well-Being of Persons Served:  We wanted to look at ways to prove the agency is providing a safe and healthy environment for the individuals we serve.
Each region worked on different areas to achieve this goal.   

Eastern Region – The region had a 25% decrease in substantiated rights from the previous year.

Southeast Region – The region reduced the number of people having to be admitted into the hospital due to illnesses or injuries.  There were only 15 hospitalizations for the year
Southwest Region – The region worked on reducing the number of injuries.  They were able to achieve a 10% decrease in injuries
Western Region -  Licensed homes are reviewed on a bi-annual basis.  Out of the 16 homes, 60% of the homes reviewed were citation free.  

Increased Community Involvement of Persons Served:
Each region worked to increase consumer participation in community-based activities.  The consumers will be involved in a community event such as bowling teams, swimming at a local public pool, church groups, community festivities, town/neighborhood meetings, classes, etc.

Eastern Region – 98% of the person served, participation in a cultural event within the community.
Southeast Region – 75% of the people served participation in some form of a community event on a monthly basis.
Southwest Region – 90% of the people served participated in a community event on a weekly basis.
Western Region – 98% of the people served participation in weekend community activities.

Develop/Maintain Personal Relationships of Persons Served:
Each region worked to increase consumer involvement with people in the community who are not paid agency employees.

Eastern Region - 77% of population achieved such involvement.
Southeast Region – 100% of population achieved such involvement
Southwest Region - 96% of population achieved such involvement.
Western Region - 98% of population achieved such involvement.
