Licensed Facilities Specialty Certification Adult Foster Care
These licensed homes provide care to individuals with severe and profound mental
and physical disabilities. Individuals living in this setting do not require
continuous nursing services and are either developmentally disabled or mentally
ill. The services within this setting are more intensive in the areas a Daily Living
Skills, high behavioral needs, high medical needs and physical rehabilitation.
The homes are Medicaid and State funded and overseen by the local community mental
health agencies.
Adult Foster Care
These licensed homes provide long-term care to individuals 18 and older with mild
to moderate mental disabilities. Individuals who reside in these home do not
need continuous nursing care, are both non-ambulatory and ambulatory and may also
have secondary health disorders such as: seizures, disorders, coronary disease
and may have a history of aggressive behaviors, which include self-abuse, physical
abuse or property destruction and elopement. Our homes are funded
through federal dollars and through individual’s social securities. The criteria
to live in this setting is that the person does not require 24 hour nursing services.
The services provided to the individual are through direction and guidance.
