Most children eagerly anticipate the holidays each year, hoping for their favorite
toys. But for some children and families, the holidays are a difficult time,
spent wondering if there will be food for a celebration, any gifts, or even a roof
over their heads. Each day Spectrum Human Services, Inc., serves over 1,500
individuals and families who face mental, physical, emotional and behavioral challenges
(visit our website www.spectrumhuman.org for more information about our programs
and services). For individuals in our care, hard times are a part of
life.
But you can help.
Each year, Spectrum conducts an Annual Holiday Drive to provide individuals we serve
with gifts and special meals. We expect to serve over 1,500 kids, adults and
families this year. We need your help to reach this ambitious goal.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Santa’s Workshop – Donate cash that will be used to purchase gifts
for children and teens in Spectrum’s community-based programs. Gifts will
be distributed during the month of December. You may also donate new, unwrapped
toys and clothes to Santa’s Workshop.
Secret Santa Program – “Adopt” a child, teen or developmentally
disabled adult. Spectrum will send the name, age, gender and Wish List (three
to four items within a $25 - $35 price range) of each individual that you “adopt”.
You choose an item for the Wish List and provide an unwrapped gift. Gifts
can be delivered to either office in Westland or Southfield.
Food Drive – Collect nonperishable food items or purchase food
gift certificates for families in our care.
